Product Description
[SIG's Challenge: GSR = SIG1911] When SIG entered the US handgun market, the model they newly developed was a 1911 clone based on the Colt Government, which had gained tremendous support in the US. It was named SIG GSR (Granite Series Rail). In developing the GSR, SIG invited Matt McLaren, a top shooter of the IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) and a custom gunsmith, aiming to create an innovative product that would set it apart from previous 1911 clones. This is evident in the fact that it was assembled by actively incorporating custom parts from top US brands, including slides and frames from the long-established US company Caspian Arms, and rear sights from Novak. It is said to have been manufactured with a quality comparable to a full-house custom gun made by a custom gun manufacturer. WA has focused on this 1911 clone, which inherits European lineage and was developed with the know-how cultivated through a series of double-action automatics, and has modeled various variations since its initial development. This time, we are proud to present the X CARRY, the latest addition to the SIG1911 series, incorporating the design of the P320-M17, as the 2026 WA Lucky Bag model. [Customization Points of the Slide Assembly] Previous SIG1911 series models inherited the slide design of the company's double-action automatic P226 series, featuring a linear form with a square cross-section that set it apart from many other 1911 clones originating from the Colt Government. The 1911-X series revamps this concept, adopting a completely new style based on the traditional Colt Government-style slide design, incorporating the diagonal lightning cuts on the front half of the slide that the company introduced with the P320 series. WA reproduces this aggressive look through machining, using a blank slide component for the 1911 made of carbon black heavy-weight material. The so-called leaf cut at the tip is more deeply cut than the classic Colt style, and the design extends the dust cover portion of the frame. The wide cocking serrations, reproduced by machining on both the front and rear, create a tactical appearance and offer practical usability, allowing for easy operation even with gloved hands. The dovetailed front sight features a white dot. Combined with a low-mount tactical rear sight to reduce snagging on clothing, it provides an excellent sight picture. The front of the rear sight is deeply recessed and also functions as a cocking shoulder, providing an effective form for operating the slide by gripping the top of the slide with an inverted hand. Another attractive feature is the external extractor, a characteristic of the SIG1911, which is reproduced as a separate metal part in the ejection port area. The outer barrel, combined with a thick barrel bushing, features a straight barrel machined from blackened brass material. The metal chamber cover has a black finish. The full-length steel guide rod, running parallel to the barrel, provides a top-heavy balance while assisting in the reliable expansion and contraction of the recoil spring. [Frame Assembly Customization Points] The Picatinny rail integrated into the frame's dust cover is a standard length with three slits, allowing for the attachment of various accessories regardless of size. The ambidextrous extended thumb safety, operable from both sides, features a snag-free, minimalist design with a cut-out at the rear of the lever to prevent accidental activation. The hammer utilizes a ring-shaped skeleton hammer designed for faster lock time. The high-ride grip safety prevents injury to the base of the thumb when gripping the gun high, and features a memory bump at the bottom for effortless disengagement, providing excellent handling. The flat-blade trigger with an internal adjustment screw allows for consistent trigger pull regardless of finger position, resulting in a stable trigger feel, generally considered effective for rapid fire and precision shooting. [High-Grade Specification with Standard G10 Grips] The blacked-out left and right grip panels utilize custom-made G10 grips. G10 is an artificial material made by compressing and hardening fiberglass and epoxy resin under high pressure. Its excellent durability and water resistance make it a popular choice for real firearms and knife grips. The panel surface features scalloping to assist in easy access to the magazine catch button and a composite anti-slip pattern. The reliable grip provided by the G10 material offers sure handling and a realistic feel.
