The era of the flintlock lasted for over 100 years, mainly in the 18th century, until the appearance of the percussion rifle.
The model is a .67 caliber smoothbore flintlock pistol that was custom-made in the 1770s and engraved with the name of President George Washington, and was donated to West Point in 1953.
