Product introduction
The Detective Special, which was sold as a model gun, has been extensively renovated and reborn as the ``R-model'' with improved reproducibility, durability, and operability.
The cylinder lock-up problem (the timing between the trigger movement and the cylinder rotation changes) that occurred in the previous model due to the faithful reproduction of the Colt mechanism has been fixed, and the rebound lever has been changed to a two-piece structure made of strong pressed and die-cast parts to prevent the timing from shifting over the long term.
In addition, pressed weights are installed inside the grip, and the exterior has been faithfully reproduced with anti-reflective grooves on the front and rear sights, and anti-slip serrations on the trigger, faithfully reproducing the details of the 2nd type from 1946 onwards, which is known as the Colt Detective.
A nickel-plated model will be added to this variation.
In the catalogs of the time, there were some models with nickel plating on the surface to prevent rust, and many models had nickel-finished models.
Nickel-plated models were popular because of their beautiful appearance, although they were also intended to prevent corrosion caused by sweat when carried for long periods of time.
Nowadays, stainless steel materials are the mainstream for real guns, and guns that are nickel-plated have become rare due to the hassle of cleaning.
The Detective Special is said to be a masterpiece of small double-action revolvers in the history of Colt, which has greatly contributed to the evolution of revolvers.
This is a masterpiece that not only model gun fans but also many people will want to get their hands on.
